ML-OP-524 – Option board
Option board to supply (extra) power to sensors or peripherals
When designing a power efficient and cost effective product like our ML-417 data logger your have to find a balance between features, costs and power consumption without compromising quality.
Regarding the sensor power switch we have chosen for a 12V power output as it is the most commonly used voltage to power external sensors.
Additional information
For setting up
If you want to connect sensors requiring 5V or 24V you could put a simple voltage regulator between the 12V output of the logger and the sensor, but its recommended to use our ML-OP-524 option board instead as it neatly integrates with our ML-417 data logger, has a power efficient design and can be deployed in a versatile manner (i.e. to add additional sensor power in case the combined draw of your sensors exceeds 200mA@12V).
Specifications
- Output voltage selector
- 5V@300mA
- 12V@200mA
- 24V@100mA
- Control mode selector
- Constant
Providing a constant output voltage (in case you have a low power sensor requiring power continuously). - Internal control
The power is switched-on in parallel with the sensor power switch of the logger. - External control
The power is switched on when applying a voltage between 3..24V on the control pin (e.g. the voltage output of the accessory port to power an Iridium EDGE satellite transceiver). - External inverted control
The power is switched off when applying a voltage between 3..24V on the control pin. (e.g. to switch on the power from the open collector alarm output).
- Constant
