Sensor Power is intermittent detecting a short-circuit situation

Q: On some Data Loggers, Sensor Power is intermittent detecting short-circuit situation. What is happening?

A: Some sensors have high capacitive load. As long as the inrush current stays below 200mA (@12V),  sensor power is applied.

Due ageing, sensors can experience higher capacitive load, resulting in short-circuit detection when the sensor is powered on.

Our solution, to pulse the sensor power two times before applying power for taking measurement, is available starting from firmware version 4.8B3.

Please, upgrade your firmware to the latest version and check if the problem persists.
