What are the differences between 525LE, SE and PE?

At YDOC, we offer three editions of our RS-525 telemetry platform: the RS-525LE, RS-525SE, and RS-525PE. While all three models share the same robust industrial design and connectivity capabilities, each has been optimized for a different application and deployment environment.
RS-525LE → Cost-effective solar-powered telemetry for agriculture.
RS-525SE → Full-featured LTE-M/NB-IoT logger for most monitoring applications.
RS-525PE → Broadest cellular coverage for regions where LTE-M/NB-IoT availability is limited.

When LTE-M was introduced, we were among the first companies to implement this technology in a remote data logger. We favored LTE-M because of its low power consumption and lower cost, resulting from a less complex modem chipset.
With the introduction of LTE Cat 1 bis, however, the power consumption advantage of LTE-M has largely disappeared. In addition, LTE-M networks are still not available worldwide. As a result, LTE Cat 1 bis has become the preferred choice for applications requiring global cellular coverage.
The RS-525PE features an integrated LTE Cat 1 bis modem. The main limitations of the modem used are the absence of an integrated GNSS/GPS receiver, support for loading only a single CA certificate for server certificate verification and no TLS 1.3 support.
